Tales of the Mediterranean

 

This is another section which could be under the Navy stuff but isn't. I'll figure it out...

The famous Mt. Vesuvius. Although I thought Mt Etna was more famous because "agricola in casa alba habitat" was, I think, near Etna. Or maybe that was Edna. "Cogito ergo sum" - maybe.

Anyway, this view is from the USS Grand Canyon, AD-28, although the view with which I am most familiar was perfectly framed by a porthole above a urinal. The other ship is apparently the Francis Marion. Either an APA or LPA - it was both at different times.
